Netblast is a 2D free-to-play online arena shooter where 4 players compete against each other in a fight to the death. The game offers two modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, and allows players to customize their own loadout and use it in matches against other players. Loadouts include weapons, perks, and cosmetics. Blending addictive gunplay and skill based platforming with unlocking a variety of items for your loadout through a progression system as you rise to the top of the leaderboards is Netblast's recipe to keep players incentivized to play for hundreds of hours on end.
Atomic Lollypop developed Netblast with the goal of creating the next eSport competitive game that can stand right next to popular arena shooters like Quake and Unreal. The company aims to make the game where people can play professionally against each other as they compete in tournaments with the ultimate prize as the stakes.
Netblast was built using the custom made C++ engine to program the game and its mechanics, such as controls, weapons, sound effects, and progression system. Designers and artists worked on making the level design, weapon and cosmetic design, and character sprites. It's the team's passionate, motivation, and knowledge that makes Netblast a game where everyone can enjoy and where professional players can take part in competition against other players.
